This year, I Have a Dream Foundation Newark adopted the Work is Success Internship Program (WISIP) model, created by the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation (CIHAD) affiliate, to introduce Dreamers to the world of work. We partnered with organizations like Frost Valley YMCA. Dreamers, like Andrew Robinson, pictured above, gained leadership and team building skills as Counselors-in-Training, or CITs at the summer camp.

Dreamer Tia Grant-Lasenberry, pictured above with Senior Manager, Denise Rodriguez of the Newark Support Center, was one of the Dreamers who completed her internship here in Newark. As an intern, she assisted and directed families looking to enroll their children into Newark Public Schools. Other Dreamers completed their internships with Newark Paths and Summer Youth Employment at Beth Israel.
