International Cultural Celebration 2026
On May 21, IHDFNJ held its annual International Cultural Celebration, bringing Dreamer Scholars and staff together for a day of learning, exploration, and appreciation for cultures from around the world.
Each classroom selected a different country to represent, with this year’s celebration highlighting Jamaica, India, the United States of America, and Ecuador.
The event gave scholars an opportunity to explore the traditions, cultures, and cuisines of each country.
From Ecuadorian humitas and Jamaican patties to India’s flavorful butter chicken, the celebration encouraged everyone to step outside of their usual experiences and try something new.
Each class shared facts they had learned about their chosen country, further showcasing the knowledge gained throughout the experience.
The Student Council praised the International Cultural Celebration as a successful event that allowed scholars to learn about different parts of the world while enjoying new foods and cultural experiences.
By creating opportunities for Dreamers to celebrate diversity and learn from one another, IHDFNJ continues to encourage curiosity, cultural appreciation, and an understanding of the diverse world around them.
